KNOW BEFORE VISITING
Before you set forth for lifelong memories on your Acapulco, Mexico vacation, here’s some helpful advice:

Entry Requirements - Your trip to Mexico requires a passport.
Language - Spanish is the official language, but English is primarily spoken in Acapulco.
Time - Acapulco is Central Standard Time (CST).
Money - The Mexican peso is the local currency. Plenty of ATMs are available, primarily in the main tourist areas and inside most banks.
Weather - Acapulco is hot and sunny year-round. Average temperature are 80°F to 92°F (27°C to 33°C). July and August are the warmest months and rainy season is June–October.
Drinking Water - Most Acapulco resorts and hotels have purified water, but bottled water is recommended. Tap water isn’t recommended.
Taxi - Always negotiate your taxi fare before entering the cab.
Dress - Informal − during the day, beach attire. Nighttime is dressy casual and some nightclubs have a dress code, prohibiting jeans, T-shirts, sneakers or shorts.
Safety - Stay in known tourist areas and don’t wander around alone at night on beaches or streets. Hotel taxis are expensive, but are more secure.

Weather


One of the best vacation spots in Mexico has the ideal climate to match. Your dream vacation will be blessed by year-round sunshine and warm weather. Acapulco has a tropical savanna climate with fairly consistent temps, hovering around the high 80s to low 90s (31-35°C) during the day, while nighttime is low-mid 70s (22-25°C).

The winters are dry, so Acapulco’s rainy season is June through October, with late afternoon and evening showers bringing a welcome relief. August and September are typically the heaviest rainfall.
