As one of the world’s premier tourist destinations, Cancun shopping is as impressive as you might imagine. It’s known throughout Mexico vacations spots for diverse shops and festive malls catering to international tourists. You’ll find everything from ultrachic designer stores and famous brand names, to flea markets and souvenir shops selling Mexican local handicrafts. Cancun shopping is duty-free, so real bargains can be had on cosmetics, perfumes, tequila and fine jewelry. 

The centros comerciales (malls) in Cancun sell just about everything: designer clothing, beachwear, sportswear, jewelry, music, electronics, household items, shoes and books. Kukulcan Plaza, Luxury Avenue and La Isla Shopping Village are the Hotel Zone’s nicest and busiest malls. Some great shops that sell handicrafts and unique items by Mexican artists can be found in Plaza Caracol. The largest is Ultrafemme, specializing in imported cosmetics, perfumes, and fine jewelry and watches. There’s even an outlet mall, Las Plazas Outlet.

Beside malls in the Hotel Zone, Cancun shopping includes the old favorite, Coral Negro Flea Market, which sells Mexican souvenirs. Downtown Cancun is home to Malecon Americas and Plaza las Americas, modern shopping malls popular with both locals and tourists alike. For handicraft souvenirs, sombreros, silver jewelry or tequila, Market 28 is Cancun’s biggest and most popular open-air market.
